A report has it that the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and Chairman, Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Mr Mustapha has revealed that schools will be reopened/resume on July 13th 2020 to enable Final year, SSCE and Primary Six students take their final exams.
This announcement came from the meeting held in Abuja at the daily COVID-19 briefing.
It could be recalled that Boss Mustapha on Monday said schools remain closed until further evaluations but on Wednesday revealed the Federal Government intention to reopen schools for the sake of final year students, SSCE students and Primary six students.
To us, this is a welcome development as people under this category will be able to take their exams and move a step higher.
The Task Force Committee said it was working in a systematic and fact based way to ensure all its decision making was informed by the best public health data and global best practices that ensure safe re-opening.
Further the consultations to various stakeholders have already started and additional consultations on memorandum of understanding have been dispatched to various learning institutions and other sectors for their views on the safe reopening of their various contents.
Unconfirmed reports has it that, July 13th 2020, is the date set by the Federal Government of Nigeria for final year, Secodary school students (SSCE) and Primary Six students to write their final examinations.
